Lionel Messi gets banned by Real Madrid as ‘new rule introduced’ after fan request

A new rule prevented a Spanish YouTuber from trying to game the system by getting Barcelona legend Lionel Messi’s name on the back of his Real Madrid shirt.

A Real Madrid supporter asserts that he forced the team to remove Lionel Messi’s name from the back of their new uniforms.

Spanish YouTuber Grefg relived the moment he ordered the new Real Madrid away kit and entered “Messi” in the designated name field in a video posted on his channel. “We are sorry, but using this name is prohibited by our Personalization Policy,” an automatic warning message appeared.

Grefg persisted in trying to fool the website by entering the Argentinean’s last name repeatedly.
Grefg persevered and attempted again after receiving his money back; this time, he did it live with his followers on Twitch. Upon entering ‘M E S S I’ once more, the website evidently displayed the ban this time around because of the personalization restriction. The user commented: “You could say that we have made them put a new restriction on the website and now they won’t let you order it even if you write M E S S I with spaces.”

Messi won 20 games against Real Madrid while at Barcelona, scoring 26 goals and dishing out 14 assists. He also won 10 La Liga titles. In his youth and heyday, the silky star was a constant nuisance for Madrid, scoring  a hat-trick in one El Clasico back in 2007 to draw the game 3-3.

Barcelona won 4-3 and went on to win La Liga at the conclusion of the season, with Messi having a direct hand in all four of their goals. Messi first helped midfielder Andres Iniesta put them ahead, but Karim Benzema’s two goals in as many possessions changed the course of the match.

Just before halftime, Messi scored a cut inside the area to tie the score for the visitors. Ronaldo then converted his penalty kick to give Real Madrid the lead in the second half. Not long after, though, Barcelona’s success was assured by two penalties from Messi, who also received a straight red card as a defender.

Therefore, it is not incomprehensible why the Real Madrid online store has prohibited Messi’s printing Messi secured the win for Barcelona with two penalties of his own.

So, it is not unfathomable to understand why Real Madrid’s online store has banned the printing of Messi onto their football strips – perhaps in a silent act of respect to themselves and Messi’s legacy at his former club.

Gukesh became the youngest world champion in history after defeating Ding Liren in a 14-game World Chess Championship match in Singapore. For the first time in nearly three weeks, D Gukesh acted like the 18-year-old he is. Overcome by the gravity of the situation, the teenager from Chennai began to sob at the chessboard.
