The USA’s Domination in Field and Track
The USA’s dominance in track and field events, where they took home an incredible 14 gold medals along with 11 silver and 9 bronze, enhanced their total result.
The Americans were as successful in swimming, where they finished with 28 medals total—eight of them gold. After everything was said and done, the United States of America had 126 medals in total—40 gold, 44 silver, and 42 bronze.
