Team USA is gearing up for their quest to secure a fifth consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball at the upcoming 2024 Olympics in Paris.
With five exhibition victories this summer, the team is now preparing in France, ready for the opening ceremony on Friday, followed by the start of group stage matches.
Most recently, Team USA triumphed over Germany 92-88 at London’s O2 Arena on Monday, led by LeBron James who scored 20 points, including the game’s final 11 points. This win followed a thrilling 101-100 victory against South Sudan in London on Saturday, where James secured the winning layup in the closing moments.
Earlier, Team USA had defeated Serbia and Australia during games held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. These successes came after a win over Canada in Las Vegas on July 10th.
During the Olympics, Team USA is scheduled to compete in three Group C matches in Lille: against Serbia on Sunday, July 31, South Sudan on August 31, and Puerto Rico on August 3. The knockout rounds will take place in Paris, with the quarterfinals scheduled for August 6, the semifinals for August 8, and the gold medal game on August 10 at Accor Arena.
