Ishan Kishan, an Indian wicketkeeper-batter, would not be able to participate in the 2024 Duleep Trophy first round because of a groin injury he received during the All-India Buchi Babu competition.
This India D side, captained by Shreyas Iyer, included Ishan Kishan. In the first round, they will play at Anantapur against India C.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) stated on Wednesday that Ishan Kishan would not be playing in the first round of the Duleep Trophy. Kishan was absent from the Indian team for months because of a lack of discipline and disobedience.
Ishan’s condition is being continuously monitored by the BCCI, which is making efforts to ensure a prompt return to fitness for him.
Earlier in August, Kishan captained Jharkhand and had an outstanding return by scoring a century.
Ishan Kishan, a wicket-keeper batter, will not be playing in the first round of the Duleep Trophy because of a groin injury he acquired during the present All-India Buchi Babu Tournament, the BCCI stated in a release. According to HT, the BCCI Medical Team is keeping a careful eye on him and trying to ensure a speedy recovery.
Last Test appearance for Ishan Kishan: In December 2023, while India was touring South Africa, Ishan Kishan made his final appearance in a Test squad.
While away from the national squad, he was expected to play domestic cricket but was not present for Jharkhand’s Ranji trophy matches.
Kishan consents to the BCCI’s rules:
Ishan accepted to follow BCCI rules after secretary Jay Shah gave him a warning, and the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) added him to the list of 25 pre-season probables.
He competed for Jharkhand at the Buchi Babu Invitational, which began in Chennai on August 15. Ishan Kishan, however, will not be participating in the 2024 Duleep Trophy’s first round, which gets underway on Thursday, because of his injury.
